Assoc. Prof. Dr. Igor Bercu Explained Ottoman-Moldova Relations at Our Faculty
Dr. Igor Bercu, Dean of the Faculty of History and Philosophy at Moldova State University, who came to our university as a guest of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Aksaray University within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA-171 project, held a conference titled “The Formation and Development of Ottoman Administrative and Territorial Structures in Moldovan Lands from the End of the 15th Century to the Beginning of the 19th Century”.
The conference addressed the relations between the Ottoman State and the Principality of Moldova in a historical context. How the Ottoman administrative units were adapted to the local conditions in Moldova and how these structures affected the political, economic and social development of the region were explained with examples and archive documents.
