The Education and Teaching Sub-Working Group, operating under the Departmental Quality Commission of the Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Aksaray University, held a meeting to evaluate the department’s quality assurance activities and plan initiatives aimed at improving educational processes.
The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Taner ASLAN, Head of the Education and Teaching Sub-Working Group, and attended by Prof. Dr. Selahattin SATILMIŞ, Prof. Dr. Eyyub ŞİMŞEK, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Serkan ÜKTEN, and Research Assistant Dr. Adem KELEŞ, who serves as a member and rapporteur of the sub-working group. During the meeting, the educational activities carried out in the Department of History were evaluated within the framework of quality assurance. Existing practices were reviewed, and initiatives aimed at the continuous improvement of educational processes were discussed. In this context, particular attention was given to the programme’s educational objectives and learning outcomes, course curricula, the effectiveness of teaching and learning processes, and practices designed to support students’ academic development. Furthermore, the participants exchanged views on conducting educational activities in accordance with quality standards, systematically monitoring and evaluating data related to educational processes, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring the sustainability of quality assurance activities. The planning of future activities within the sub-working group’s duties and responsibilities, as well as the coordination of initiatives contributing to the department’s quality assurance system, was also discussed. The meeting is expected to contribute to improving the quality of education and teaching in the Department of History, strengthening the culture of quality assurance, and promoting the principle of continuous improvement at the institutional level. The Department of History, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Aksaray University, continues its efforts to enhance the quality of educational processes and implement quality assurance activities through a systematic, participatory, and sustainable approach.
